Hey friends,
Songs come from all different kind of places. One night not long ago I was taking the long walk to my home after the bar closed and I had called a friend on my mobile phone and was talking with her as I walked along. (You should know that my "home" is on the ocean and that I live on the other side of the port from the city center. It's about a 40 minute brisk walk to get home and late at night there is no public transportation). You can say I was a little bit drunk. Ok, more than a little. Anyway, I was making up this poem as I walked along and we're fortunate that Katy wrote the words down. Maybe one day some music will find these words but for now and with a smile...................:
"I'M A POOR LONESOME COWBOY..........
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
IT'S A LONG WAY TO WALK
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
THERE'S NO LIGHT, ONLY THE SHADOW OF THE BIG BOAT
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
IT SMELLS LIKE FISH, SHUT THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR PLEASE
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
I'M IN FRONT OF THE OLD FACTORY
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
THE WIND IS BLOWING, I NEED A VESPA
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
FOLLOWING THE LINE, NOBODY'S AROUND
I'M WALKING ON THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
CLOUDS ARE MOVING FASTER THAN ME!
I'M WALKING IN THE NIGHT
THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN IS BEHIND ME
